Dane De La Rosa traded to Angels

Dane De La Rosa was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Los Angeles Angels on March 27, 2013. In exchange the Rays received Steven Geltz.

RHP De La Rosa has two seasons MLB experience pitching both with the Rays. He split 2012 between Triple A Durham and the Rays. He was 0-4, 2.79 ERA, 87 K, 1.15 WHIP, 20 SV in 67.2 IP over 54 games at Durham and was 0-0, 12.60 ERA, 5 K, 1.80 WHIP in 5.0 IP over 5 games with the Rays. For his MLB career he is 0-0, 10.95 ERA, 13 K, 1.78 WHIP in 12.1 IP over 12 games. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 24th round in 2002. De La Rosa turned 30 on February 1st.

RHP Geltz split 2012 between Double A Arkansas, Triple A Salt Lake and the Angels. He was 3-0, 0.36 ERA, 37 K, 0.75 WHIP, 6 SV in 25.1 IP over 21 games at Arkansas, was 0-1, 5.08 ERA, 33 K, 1.28 WHIP, 5 SV in 33.2 IP over 25 games at Salt Lake and was 0-0, 4.50 ERA, 1 K, 2.50 WHIP in 2.0 IP over 2 games with the Angels. He originally signed with the Angels as an amateur free agent in 2008. Geltz turned 25 on November 1st.
