Cal Ripkin MLB Hall of Fame 2007

Calvin E (Cal) Ripkin Jr was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2007 along with Tony Gwynn. Ripkin was a SS\3B with 21 seasons MLB experience playing all with the Baltimore Orioles (1981-2001). For his MLB career he hit .276/.340/.447 with 431 HR, 1695 RBI, 1647 R, 36 SB in 3001 games. 

I believe his three best seasons were 1983 when he hit .318/.371/.517 with 27 HR, 102 RBI, 121 R, 0 SB in 162 games, 1991 when he hit .323/.374/.566 with 34 HR, 114 RBI, 99 R, 6 SB in 162 games and 1985 when he hit .282/.347/.469 with 26 HR, 110 RBI, 116 R, 2 SB in 161 games. 

Ripkin was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1982 when he hit .264/.317/.475 with 28 HR, 93 RBI, 90 R, 3 SB in 160 games.

Ripkin led the American League in runs and doubles (47) in 1983.

He was an All Star 19 times (1983-2001). He won two Gold Gloves (1991-1992).  His 3184 career hits ranks 14th all time. He has the MLB record of playing in 2632 consecutive games earning him the nickname The Iron Man.  Ripkin was the American League MVP in 1983 and 1991. He won the World Series Championship with the Orioles in 1983.
