Jose Mendez was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2006 along with Raymond Brown, Willard Brown, Andy Cooper, Franklin Grant, Pete Hill, Biz Mackey, Effa Manley, Alex Pompez, Cum Posey, Louis Santop, Bruce Sutter, Mule Suttles, Ben Taylor, Cristobal Torriente, Solomon White, JL Wilkinson and Jud Wilson. Mendez was inducted by the Negro League Committee. He was a RHP who pitched with the Kansas City Monarchs (1920-1926). While incomplete the stats show in league he was 27-12 with a 3.52 ERA, 147 K, 1.18 WHIP. Mendez won the Negro League World Series with the Monarchs in 1924.
