Brad Lincoln was traded by the Toronto Blue Jays to the Philadelphia Phillies on December 3, 2013. In exchange the Blue Jays received Erik Kratz and Rob Rasmussen.
RHP Lincoln has three seasons MLB experience pitching with the Blue Jays and Pirates. He split 2013 between Triple A Buffalo and the Blue Jays. He was 3-2, 2.05 ERA, 29 K, 1.14 WHIP, 5 SV in 26.1 IP over 23 games at Buffalo and was 1-2, 3.98 ERA, 25 K, 1.58 WHIP in 31.2 IP over 22 games with the Blue Jays. For his MLB career he is 9-11, 4.66 ERA, 167 K, 1.39 WHIP, 1 SV in 220.0 IP over 97 games. He was originally drafted by the Pirates with the fourth pick of the first round in 2006. He was traded to the Blue Jays in 2012. Lincoln turned 28 on May 25.
Kratz is a catcher with four seasons MLB experience playing with the Phillies. He split 2013 between Double A Lehigh Valley and Triple A Reading while rehabbing and with the Phillies. He hit .167/.167/.250 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 3 games at Lehigh Valley, hit 0 for 4 in 1 game at Reading and hit .213/.280/.386 with 9 HR, 26 RBI, 21 R, 0 SB in 68 games with the Phillies. He missed much of the season with a knee injury. For his MLB career he has hit .220/.281/.407 with 18 HR, 53 RBI, 37 R, 0 SB in 129 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 29th round in 2002. Kratz turned 33 on June 15.
LHP Rasmussen split 2013 between and Triple A Albuquerque and Double A Chattanooga. He was 0-7, 6.46 ERA, 37 K, 1.77 WHIP in 54.1 IP over 12 games at Albuquerque and was 3-4, 2.55 ERA, 76 K, 1.08 WHIP in 81.1 IP over 16 games at Chattanooga. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in the second round in 2010. He was traded to the Astros in July 2012, traded to the Dodgers in December 2012 and traded to the Phillies in September 2013. Rasmussen turned 24 on April 2nd.
