Willie Stargell MLB Hall of Fame 1988

Wilver D (Willie) Stargell was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame as the sole member of the class of 1988. Stargell was an OF\1B playing all with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1962-1982). For his MLB career he hit .282/.360/.529 with 475 HR, 1540 RBI, 1195 R, 17 SB in 2360 games. 

I believe his three best seasons were 1971 when he hit .295/.398/.628 with 48 HR, 125 RBI, 104 R, 0 SB in 141 games, 1973 when he hit .299/.392/.646 with 44 HR, 119 RBI, 106 R, 0 SB in 148 games and 1974 when he hit .301/.407/.537 with 25 HR, 96 RBI, 90 R, 0 SB in 140 games. 

Stargell won the National League MVP in 1979 when he hit .281/.352/.552 with 32 HR, 82 RBI, 60 R, 0 SB in 126 games. He had finished second in NL MVP voting in 1971 and 1973. 

Stargell led the National League in doubles in 1973 (43). He led the NL in home runs in 1971 and 1973. He led the NL in RBI in 1973.

He was an All Star seven times (1964-1966, 1971-1973, 1978).  Stargell won the World Series Championship with the Pirates in 1971 and 1979.
