Willie McCovey MLB Hall of Fame 1986

Willie L McCovey was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1986 along with Robert Doerr and Ernest Lombardi. McCovey was a 1B\OF with 22 seasons MLB experience playing with the San Francisco Giants (1959-1973, 1977-1980), San Diego Padres (1974-1976) and Oakland Athletics (1976). For his MLB career he hit .270/.374/.515 with 521 HR, 1555 RBI, 1229 R, 26 SB in 2588 games. 

I believe his three best seasons were 1969 when he hit .320/.453/.656 with 45 HR, 126 RBI, 101 R, 0 SB in 149 games, 1970 when he hit .289/.444/.612 with 39 HR, 126 RBI, 98 R, 0 SB in 152 games and 1963 when he hit .280/.350/.566 with 44 HR, 102 RBI, 103 R, 1 SB in 152 games. 

McCovey won the National League Rookie of the Year in 1959 when he hit .354/.429/.656 with 13 HR, 38 RBI, 32 R, 2 SB in 52 games.

McCovey led the National League in home runs in 1963, 1968 (36) and 1969. He led the NL in RBI in 1968 (105) and 1969. 

He was an All Star six times (1963, 1966, 1968-1971). McCovey won the National League MVP in 1969.
