Anthony M Lazzeri was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1991 along with Rod Carew, Fergie Jenkins, Gaylord Perry and William Veeck. Lazzeri was a 2B\3B\SS with 14 seasons MLB experience playing with the New York Yankees (1926-1937), Chicago Cubs (1938), Brooklyn Dodgers (1939) and New York Giants (1939). For his MLB career he hit .292/.380/.467 with 178 HR, 1191 RBI, 986 R, 148 SB in 1740 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1930 when he hit .303/.372/.462 with 9 HR, 121 RBI, 109 R, 4 SB in 143 games, 1929 when he hit .354/.429/.561 with 18 HR, 106 RBI, 101 R, 9 SB in 147 games and 1927 when he hit .309/.383/.482 with 18 HR, 102 RBI, 92 R, 22 SB in 153 games.
He was an All Star in 1933. Lazzeri won the World Series Championship five times with the Yankees in 1927, 1928, 1932, 1936 and 1937.
