Rodney C Carew was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1991 along with Fergie Jenkins, Tony Lazzeri, Gaylord Perry and William Veeck. Carew was a 1B\2B with 19 seasons MLB experience playing with the Minnesota Twins (1967-1978) and California Angels (1979-1985). For his MLB career he hit .328/.393/.429 with 92 HR, 1015 RBI, 1424 R, 353 SB in 2469 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1977 when he hit .388/.449/.570 with 14 HR, 100 RBI, 128 R, 23 SB in 155 games, 1976 when he hit .331/.395/.463 with 9 HR, 90 RBI, 97 R, 49 SB in 156 games and 1975 when he hit .359/.421/.497 with 14 HR, 80 RBI, 89 R, 35 SB in 143 games.
Carew was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1967 when he hit .292/.341/.409 with 8 HR, 51 RBI, 66 R, 5 SB in 137 games.
Carew was the American League batting champ seven times: 1969 (.332), 1972 (.318), 1973 (.350), 1974 (.364), 1975, 1977 and 1977 (.333). He led the AL in triples in 1973 (11) and 1977 (16). He led the AL in runs in 1977.
He was an All Star 18 times (1967-1984). Carew was the American League MVP in 1977.
