Orlando Cepeda MLB Hall of Fame 1999

Orlando M Cepeda Pennes was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1999 along with George Brett, Nestor Chylak, Nolan Ryan, Frank Selee, Smokey Joe Williams and Robin Yount. Cepeda was a 1B\OF with 17 seasons MLB experience playing with the San Francisco Giants (1958-1966), St Louis Cardinals (1966-1968), Atlanta Braves (1969-1972), Oakland Athletics (1972), Boston Red Sox (1973) and Kansas City Royals (1974). For his MLB career he hit .297/.350/.499 with 379 HR, 1365 RBI, 1131 R, 142 SB in 2124 games. 

I believe his three best seasons were 1961 when he hit .311/.362/.609 with 46 HR, 142 RBI, 105 R, 12 SB in 152 games, 1962 when he hit .306/.347/.518 with 35 HR, 114 RBI, 105 R, 10 SB in 162 games and 1967 when he hit .325/.399/.524 with 25 HR, 111 RBI, 91 R, 11 SB in 151 games. 

Cepeda won the National League Rookie of the Year in 1958 when he hit .312/.342/.512 with 25 HR, 96 RBI, 88 R, 15 SB in 148 games.

Cepeda led the National League in doubles in 1958 (38). He led the NL in home runs in 1961. He led the NL in RBI in 1961 and 1967.

He was an All Star 11 times (1959-1964, 1967).  Cedepa was the National League MVP in 1967 and was second in NL MVP voting in 1961. He won the World Series Championship with the Cardinals in 1967.
