James A Palmer was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1990 along with Joe Morgan. Palmer was a RHP with 19 seasons MLB experience pitching all with the Baltimore Orioles (1965-1967, 1969-1984). For his MLB career he was 268-152 with a 2.86 ERA, 2212 K, 1.18 WHIP, 4 SV, 211 complete games, 53 shut outs in 3948.0 IP over 558 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1975 when he was 23-11 with a 2.09 ERA, 193 K, 1.03 WHIP, 1 SV, 25 complete games, 10 SV in 323.0 IP over 39 games, 1973 when he was 22-9 with a 2.40 ERA, 158 K, 1.14 WHIP, 1 SV, 19 complete games, 6 shut outs in 296.1 IP over 38 games and 1976 when he was 22-13 with a 2.51 ERA, 159 K, 1.08 WHIP, 23 complete games, 6 shut outs in 315.0 IP over 40 games.
Palmer led the American League in wins in 1975, 1976 and 1977 (20). He led the AL in ERA in 1973 and 1975. He led the AL in shut outs in 1975.
He was an All Star six times (1970-1972, 1975, 1977-1978). He won four Gold Gloves (1976-1979). He pitched a no hitter on August 13, 1969 against the Oakland Athletics. Palmer won the American League Cy Young in 1973, 1975 and 1976. He was second in AL Cy Young voting in 1977 and 1982. Palmer won the World Series Championship with the Orioles in 1966, 1970 and 1983.
