Hilton Smith was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2001 along with Bill Mazeroski, Kirby Puckett and Dave Winfield. Smith was inducted by the Veteran's Committee and had been a player in the Negro Leagues. He was a RHP and played for the Monroe Monarchs (1932-1935) and Kansas City Monarchs (1936-1948). While stats are incomplete his stats show in league he was 69-33 with a 1.68 ERA, 398 K, 0.96 WHIP. Factor in the barn storming the Monarchs did each year and Smith is credited for winning at least 20 games each season. He also spent time pitching in Cuba and Mexico.
