George S Davis was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1998 along with Larry Doby, Lee MacPhail, Bullet Rogan and Don Sutton. Davis was a SS\3B\OF with 20 seasons MLB experience playing with the Cleveland Spiders (1890-1892), New York Giants (1893-1901, 1903) and Chicago White Sox (1902, 1904-1909). For his MLB career he hit .295/.362/.405 with 73 HR, 1440 RBI, 1545 R, 619 SB in 2372 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1897 when he hit .353/.410/.509 with 10 HR, 135 RBI, 112 R, 65 SB in 131 games, 1893 when he hit .355/.410/.554 with 11 HR, 119 RBI, 112 R, 37 SB in 133 games and 1895 when he hit .340/.417/.500 with 5 HR, 101 RBI, 108 R, 48 SB in 110 games.
Davis led the National League in RBI in 1897.
He also served as manager for the Giants (1895, 1900-1901). Davis won the World Series Championship with the White Sox in 1906.
