George H Brett was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1999 along with Orlando Cepeda, Nestor Chylak, Nolan Ryan, Frank Selee, Smokey Joe Williams and Robin Yount. Brett was a 3B\1B with 21 seasons MLB experience playing all with the Kansas City Royals (1973-1993). For his MLB career he hit .305/.369/.487 with 317 HR, 1596 RBI, 1583 R, 201 SB in 2707 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1979 when he hit .329/.376/563 with 23 HR, 107 RBI, 119 R, 17 SB in 154 games, 1985 when he hit .335/.436/.585 with 30 HR, 112 RBI, 108 R, 9 SB in 155 games and 1980 when he hit .390/.454/.664 with 24 HR, 118 RBI, 87 R, 15 SB in 117 games.
Brett was the American League batting champ in 1976 (.333), 1980 and 1990 (.329). He also led the AL in doubles in 1978 (45) and 1990 (45). He led the AL in triples in 1975 (13), 1976 (14) and 1979 (20).
He was an All Star 13 times (1976-1988). He won Gold Glove in 1985. His 3154 career hits ranks 15th all time. Brett was the American League MVP in 1980. He was also second in AL MVP voting in 1976 and 1985. Brett won the World Series Championship with the Royals in 1985.
