Gary E Carter was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2003 along with Eddie Murray. Carter was a C\OF with 19 seasons MLB experience playing with the Montreal Expors (1974-1984, 1992), New York Mets (1985-1989), San Francisco Giants (1990) and Los Angeles Dodgers (1991). For his MLB career he hit .262/.335/.439 with 324 HR, 1225 RBI, 1025 R, 39 SB in 2296 games. He threw out 35% of those that tried to steal on him.
I believe his three best seasons were 1985 when he hit .281/.365/.488 with 32 HR, 100 RBI, 83 R, 1 SB in 149 games, 1984 when he hit .294/.366/.487 with 27 HR, 106 RBI, 75 R, 2 SB in 159 games and 1982 when he hit .293/.381/.510 with 29 HR, 97 RBI, 91 R, 2 SB in 154 games.
Carter led the National League in RBI in 1984.
He was an All Star 11 times (1975, 1979-1988). He won three Gold Gloves (1980-1982). He was second in NL Rookie of the Year voting in 1975 and NL MVP voting in 1980. Carter won the World Series Championship with the Mets in 1986.
