Eddie C Murray was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2003 along with Gary Carter. Murray was a first baseman with 21 seasons MLB experience playing with the Baltimore Orioles (1977-1988, 1996), Los Angeles Dodgers (1989-1991, 1997), New York Mets (1992-1993), Cleveland Indians (1994-1996) and Anaheim Angels (1997). For his MLB career he hit .287/.359/.476 with 504 HR, 1917 RBI, 1627 R, 110 SB in 3026 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1985 when he hit .297/.383/.523 with 31 HR, 124 RBI, 111 R, 5 SB in 156 games, 1983 when he hit .306/.393/.538 with 33 HR, 111 RBI, 115 R, 5 SB in 156 games and 1980 when he hit .300/.354/.519 with 32 HR, 116 RBI, 100 R, 7 SB in 158 games.
Murray won the American League Rookie of the Year in 1977 when he hit .283/.333/.470 with 27 HR, 88 RBI, 81 R, 0 SB in 160 games.
Murray led the American League in home runs and RBI in 1981.
He was an All Star eight times (1978, 1981-1986, 1991). He won three Gold Gloves (1982-1984). His 3255 career hits ranks 12th all time. He was second in AL MVP voting in 1982 and 1983. Murray won the World Series Championship with the Orioles in 1983.
