Donald S Drysdale was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1984 along with Luis Aparicio, Richard Ferrell, Harmon Killebrew and Pee Wee Reese. Drysdale was a RHP with 14 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1956-1957) and Los Angeles Dodgers (1958-1969). For his MLB career he was 209-166 with a 2.95 ERA, 2486 K, 1.15 WHIP, 6 SV, 167 complete games, 49 shut outs in 3432.0 IP over 518 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1962 when he was 25-9 with a 2.83 ERA, 232 K, 1.11 WHIP, 1 SV, 19 complete games, 2 shut outs in 314.1 IP over 43 games, 1965 when he was 23-12 with a 2.77 ERA, 210 K, 1.09 WHIP, 1 SV, 20 complete games, 7 shut outs in 308.1 IP over 44 games and 1957 when he was 17-9 with a 2.69 ERA, 148 K, 1.17 WHIP, 9 complete games, 4 shut outs in 221.0 IP over 34 games.
Drysdale led the National League in wins in 1962. He led the NL in strikeouts in 1959 (242), 1960 (246) and 1962. He led the NL in shut outs in 1959 (4).
He was an All Star nine times (1959, 1961-1965, 1967, 1968). Drysdale won the NL Cy Young in 1962. He won the World Series Championship three times in 1959, 1963 and 1965.
