David M Winfield was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2001 along with Bill Mazeroski, Kirby Puckett and Hilton Smith. Winfield was an outfielder with 22 seasons MLB experience playing with the San Diego Padres (1973-1980), New York Yankees (1981-1990), California Angels (1990-1991), Toronto Blue Jays (1992), Minnesota Twins (1993-1994) and Cleveland Indians (1995). For his MLB career he hit .283/.353/.475 with 465 HR, 1833 RBI, 1669 R, 223 SB in 2973 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1985 when he hit .275/.328/.471 with 26 HR, 114 RBI, 105 R, 19 SB in 155 games, 1984 when he hit .340/.393/.515 with 19 HR, 100 RBI, 106 R, 6 SB in 141 games and 1979 when he hit .308/.395/.558 with 34 HR, 118 RBI, 97 R, 15 SB in 159 games.
Winfield led the National League in RBI in 1979.
He was an All Star 12 times (1977-1988). He won seven gold gloves (1979-1980, 1982-1985, 1987). His 3110 career hits ranks 19th all time. Winfield won the World Series Championship with the Blue Jays in 1992.
