Carl M Yastrzemski was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1989 along with Al Barlick, Johnny Bench and Red Schoendienst. Yastrzemski was an OF\1B with 23 seasons MLB experience playing all with the Boston Red Sox (1961-1983). For his MLB career he hit .285/.379/.462 with 452 HR, 1844 RBI, 1816 R, 168 SB in 3308 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1967 when he hit .326/.418/.622 with 44 HR, 121 RBI, 112 R, 10 SB in 161 games, 1970 when he hit .329/.452/.592 with 40 HR, 102 RBI, 125 R, 23 SB in 161 games and 1977 when he hit .296/.372/.505 with 28 HR, 102 RBI, 99 R, 11 SB in 150 games.
Yastrzemski was the American League batting champ in 1963 (.321), 1967 and 1968 (.301). He led the AL in doubles in 1963 (40), 1965 (45) and 1966 (39). He led the AL in home runs in 1967. He led the AL in RBI in 1967. He led the AL in runs in 1967, 1970 and 1974 (93).
He was an All Star 18 times (1963, 1965-1979, 1982-1983). He won seven Gold Gloves (1963, 1965, 1967-1969, 1971, 1977). His 3419 career hits ranks seventh all time. Yastrzemski won the American League MVP in 1967 when also won the Triple Crown.
