Billy L Williams was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1987 along with Ray Dandridge and Catfish Hunter. Williams was an OF\1B with 18 seasons MLB experience playing with the Chicago Cubs (1959-1974) and Oakland Athletics (1975-1976). For his MLB career he hit .290/.361/.492 with 426 HR, 1475 RBI, 1410 R, 90 SB in 2488 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1970 when he hit .322/.391/.586 with 42 HR, 129 RBI, 137 R, 7 SB in 161 games, 1965 when he hit .315/.377/.552 with 34 HR, 108 RBI, 115 R, 10 SB in 164 games and 1972 when he hit .333/.398/.606 with 37 HR, 122 RBI, 95 R, 3 SB in 150 games.
Williams was the National League Rookie of the Year in 1961 when he hit .278/.338/.484 with 25 HR, 86 RBI, 75 R, 6 SB in 146 games.
Williams was the National League batting champ in 1972. He led the NL in runs in 1970.
He was an All Star six times (1962, 1964-1965, 1968, 1972-1973). He was second in NL MVP voting in 1970 and 1972.
