Albert Joseph Barlick was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1989 along with Johnny Bench, Red Schoendienst and Carl Yastrzemski. Barlick was inducted by the Veterans Committee as an Umpire. He worked as an Umpire with the National League (1940-1943, 1946-1955, 1958-1971). He served in the United States Coast Guard 1943-1945 during World War II. After retiring as an Umpire he worked as a Consultant to the National League 1972-1994 where he supervised and helped scout umpires.
