Brett Anderson Traded to Rockies

Brett Anderson was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Colorado Rockies on December 10, 2013. In exchange the Athletics received Drew Pomeranz and Chris Jensen.

LHP Anderson has five seasons MLB experience pitching with the Athletics. He split 2013 between Class A Advanced Stockton, Double A Midland and Triple A Stockton while rehabbing and with the Athletics. He was 0-1, 13.50 ERA, 6 K, 2.10 WHIP in 3.1 IP in 1 game at Stockton, was 0-1, 14.73 ERA, 3 K, 2.73 WHIP in 3.2 IP in 1 game at Midland, was 0-0, 7.71 ERA, 2 K, 2.57 WHIP in 1 game at Sacramento and was 1-4, 6.04 ERA, 46 K, 1.61 WHIP, 3 SV in 44.2 IP over 16 games with the Athletics. For his MLB career he is 26-29, 3.81 ERA, 357 K, 1.28 WHIP, 3 SV in 450.2 IP over 84 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the second round in 2006. He was traded to the Athletics in 2007. Anderson will be 26 on February 1st.

LHP Pomeranz has three seasons MLB experience pitching with the Rockies. He split 2013 between Double A Tulsa, Triple A Colorado Springs and the Rockies. He was 0-1, 11.81 ERA, 5 K, 2.06 WHIP in 5.1 IP in 1 game at Tulsa, was 8-1, 4.20 ERA, 96 K, 1.35 WHIP in 85.2 IP over 15 games at Colorado Springs and was 0-4, 6.23 ERA, 19 K, 2.03 WHIP in 21.2 IP over 8 games with the Rockies. For his MLB career he is 4-14, 5.20 ERA, 115 K, 1.54 WHIP in 136.2 IP over 34 games. He was originally drafted by the Indians with the fifth pick of the first round in 2010. He was traded to the Rockies in 2011. Pomeranz turned 25 on November 22.

RHP Jensen pitched in 2013 at Class A Advanced Modesto. He was 5-8, 4.55 ERA, 136 K, 1.31 WHIP in 152.1 IP over 28 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the sixth round in 2011. Jensen turned 23 on September 30.
