Ryan Doumit traded to Braves

Ryan Doumit was traded by the Minnesota Twins to the Atlanta Braves on December 18, 2013. In exchange the Twins received Sean Gilmartin.

Doumit is a C\OF with nine seasons MLB experience playing with the Twins and Pirates. In 2013 he hit .247/.314/.396 with 14 HR, 55 RBI, 49 R, 1 SB in 135 games with the Twins. For his MLB career he has hit .268/.329/.438 with 99 HR, 396 RBI, 339 R, 11 SB in 880 games. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the second round in 1999. Doumit turned 32 on April 3rd.

LHP Gilmartin split 2013 between Rookie Gulf Coast, Class A Rome and Triple A Gwinnett. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 11 K, 0.11 WHIP in 9.0 IP in 3 games at Gulf Coast, was 1-0, 1.80 ERA, 5 K, 0.80 WHIP in 5.0 IP in 1 game at Rome and was 3-8, 5.74 ERA, 65 K, 1.59 WHIP in 91.0 IP over 17 games at Gwinnett. He was originally drafted by the Braves with the 28th pick of the first round in 2011. Gilmartin turned 23 on May 8th.
