Anthony Bass traded to Astros

Anthony Bass was traded by the San Diego Padres to the Houston Astros on December 11, 2013 along with a player to be named later or cash. The Padres received a player to be named later or cash. RHP Bass has three seasons MLB experience pitching all with the Padres. He split 2013 between Triple A Tucson and the Padres. He was 4-6, 5.45 ERA, 60 K, 1.58 WHIP in 79.1 IP over 15 games at Tucson and was 0-0, 5.36 ERA, 31 K, 1.69 WHIP in 42.0 IP over 24 games with the Padres. For his MLB career he is 4-8, 4.08 ERA, 135 K, 1.39 WHIP, 1 SV in 187.1 IP over 75 games. He was originally drafted by the Padres in the fifth round in 2008. Bass turned 26 on November 1st.
