Addison Reed traded to Diamondbacks

Addison Reed was traded by the Chicago White Sox to the Arizona Diamondbacks on December 16, 2013. In exchange the White Sox received Matt Davidson.

RHP Reed has three seasons MLB experience pitching with the White Sox. In 2013 he was 5-4, 3.79 ERA, 72 K, 1.11 WHIP, 40 SV in 71.1 IP over 68 games. For his MLB career he is 8-6, 4.17 ERA, 138 K, 1.23 WHIP, 69 SV in 133.2 IP over 136 games. He was originally drafted by the White Sox in the third round in 2010. Reed will be 25 on December 27.

Davidson is a third baseman who split 2013 between Triple A Reno and the Diamondbacks. He hit .280/.350/.481 with 17 HR, 74 RBI, 55 R, 1 SB in 115 games at Reno and hit .237/.333/.434 with 3 HR, 12 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB in 31 games with the Diamondbacks. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 35th pick of the first round in 2009. Davidson turned 22 on March 26.
