Trevor Cahill traded to Braves

Trevor Cahill was traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Atlanta Braves on April 3, 2015 along with cash. The Diamondbacks in exchange received Josh Elander.

RHP Cahill in 2014 was 3-12, 5.61 ERA, 105 K, 1.61 WHIP, .285 BAA, 1 SV in 110.2 IP over 32 games. This season with the Braves he is 0-3, 9.42 ERA, 5 K, 2.02 WHIP, .344 BAA in 14.1 IP over 4 games. Over his seven season MLB career with the Braves, Diamondbacks and Athletics he is 64-72, 4.15 ERA, 723 K, 1.37 WHIP, .259 BAA, 1 SV in 1054.2 IP over 190 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the second round in 2006. Cahill turned 27 on March 1st.

Elander is an outfielder who played in 2014 at Class A Advanced Lynchburg. He hit .219/.319/.328 with 2 HR, 21 RBI, 19 R, 6 SB in 37 games. He was originally drafted by the Braves in the sixth round in 2012. Elander turned 24 on March 19.
