Paul Konerko retires
Paul Konerko announced his retirement from playing baseball in November 2014. The first baseman had 18 seasons MLB experience playing with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1997-1998), Cincinnati Reds (1998) and Chicago White Sox (1999-2014). For the 2014 season he hit .207/.254/.317 with 5 HR, 22 RBI, 15 R, 0 SB in 81 games. For his MLB career he hit .279/.354/.486 with 439 HR, 1412 RBI, 1162 R, 9 SB in 2349 games. Konerko was a World Series champion in 2005 and a six time All-Star (2002, 2005-2006, 2010-2012). He was originally drafted by the Dodgers with the 13th pick of the first round in 1994. Konerko was 38 at the time of his retirement.
