Carlos Quentin retires
Carlos Quentin announced his retirement from playing baseball in May 2015. The outfielder had nine seasons MLB experience playing with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2006-2007), Chicago White Sox (2008-2011) and San Diego Padres (2012-2014). He had signed a minor league deal with the Mariners for 2015 and hit .176/.263/.235 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 5 games at Triple A Tacoma. For his MLB career he hit .252/.347/.484 with 154 HR, 491 RBI, 416 R, 16 SB in 834 games. He was a two time All-Star (2008, 2011) and was a Silver Slugger in 2008. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 29th pick of the first round in 2003. Quentin was 32 at the time of his retirement.
