John Buck retires
John Buck announced his retirement from playing baseball in March 2015. The catcher had 11 seasons MLB experience playing with the Kansas City Royals (2004-2009), Toronto Blue Jays (2010), Florida Marlins (2011), Miami Marlins (2012), New York Mets (2013), Pittsburgh Pirates (2013), Seattle Mariners (2014) and Los Angeles Angels (2014). For 2014 he hit .226/.293/.286 with 1 HR, 6 RBI, 9 R, 0 SB in 27 games with Mariners, released, .294/.370/.412 with 2 HR, 15 RBI, 13 R, 0 SB in 33 games at Triple A Salt Lake and .200/.200/.200 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 5 games with the Angels. For his MLB career he hit .234/.301/.398 with 134 HR, 491 RBI, 389 R, 6 SB in 1090 games. His caught stealing rate was 25%. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the seventh round in 1998. Buck was 34 at the time of his retirement.
