Dontrelle Willis retires

Dontrelle Willis announced his retirement from playing baseball in March 2015. The LHP had nine seasons MLB experience playing with the Florida Marlins (2003-2007), Detroit Tigers (2008-2010), Arizona Diamondbacks (2010) and Cincinnati Reds (2011). In 2014 he pitched at Triple A Fresno of the Giants where he was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0 K, 1.50 WHIP, .000 BAA in 0.2 IP over 2 games. For his MLB career he was 72-69, 4.17 ERA, 896 K, 1.43 WHIP, .268 BAA in 1221.2 IP over 205 games. 2003 was a big season as he was National League Rookie of the Year, World Series champion and an All-Star (also All-Star 2005). He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the eighth round in 2000. Willis was 33 at the time of his retirement.
