Bruce Chen retires

Bruce Chen announced his retirement from playing baseball in May 2015. The LHP had 17 seasons MLB experience playing with the Atlanta Braves (1998-2000), Philadelphia Phillies (2000-2001), New York Mets (2001-2002), Montreal Expos (2002), Cincinnati Reds (2002), Houston Astros (2003), Boston Red Sox (2003), Baltimore Orioles (2004-2006), Texas Rangers (2007), Kansas City Royals (2009-2014) and Cleveland Indians (2015). For 2015 he was 2-1, 1.74 ERA, 23 K, 0.71 WHIP, .178 BAA in 31.0 IP over 5 games at Triple A Columbus and 0-1, 12.79 ERA, 4 K, 2.84 WHIP, .500 BAA in 6.1 IP over 2 games with the Indians. For his MLB career he was 82-81, 4.62 ERA, 1140 K, 1.39 WHIP, .266 BAA, 1 SV in 1532.0 IP over 400 games with 227 GS. He originally signed with the Braves in 1993 as an amatuer free agent out of Panama. Chen was 37 at the time of his retirement.
