Jeff Karstens retires

Jeff Karstens announced his retirement from playing baseball in May 2015. The RHP had seven seasons MLB experience playing with the New York Yankees (2006-2007) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2008-2012). He last pitched at Class A Advanced Bradenton and Double A Altoona in 2013. For his MLB career he was 26-40, 4.44 ERA, 330 K, 1.33 WHIP, .277 BAA in 592.1 IP over 138 games with 91 GS. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 19th round in 2003. Karstens was 32 at the time of his retirement.
