Ryan Webb was traded by the Baltimore Orioles to the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 9, 2015 along with Brian Ward and a 2015 second round pick. The Orioles in exchange received Chris O'Brien and Ben Rowen.
RHP Webb split 2014 between Triple A Norfolk and the Orioles. He was 0-2, 4.76 ERA, 10 K, 1.32 WHIP, .277 BAA in 11.1 IP over 11 games at Norfolk and 3-3, 3.83 ERA, 37 K, 1.26 WHIP, .259 BAA in 49.1 IP over 51 games with the Orioles. Over seven MLB seasons with the Indians, Orioles, Marlins and Padres he is 17-18, 3.32 ERA, 234 K, 3.42 WHIP, .262 BAA in 336.1 IP over 324 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the fourth round in 2004. Webb turned 29 on February 5th.
Ward is a catcher who split 2014 between Double A Bowie and Triple A Norfolk. He hit .346/.433/.385 with 0 HR, 2 RBI, 4 R, 0 SB in 7 games at Bowie and .227/.330/.286 with 2 HR, 20 RBI, 24 R, 2 SB in 65 games at Norfolk. His minor league caught stealing rate is 39%. He originally signed with the Orioles in 2009 as an undrafted free agent. He also served a 50 game suspension in 2012 for drugs. Ward will be 30 on October 17.
O'Brien is a catcher who played in 2014 at Double A Chattanooga where he hit .266/.341/.438 with 7 HR, 53 RBI, 33 R, 3 SB in 116 games. His minor league caught stealing rate is 30%. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 18th round in 2011. O'Brien will be 26 on July 24.
RHP Rowen split 2014 between Triple A Round Rock and the Rangers. He was 3-0, 3.45 ERA, 31 K, 1.19 WHIP, .253 BAA, 5 SV in 47.0 IP over 34 games at Round Rock and 0-0, 4.15 ERA, 7 K, 1.62 WHIP, .313 BAA in 8.2 IP over 8 games with the Rangers. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the 22nd round in 2010, released in December 2014 and signed with the Dodgers in January 2015. Rowen turned 26 on November 15.
