Eric Surkamp traded to Dodgers

Eric Surkamp was traded by the Chicago White Sox to the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 23, 2015. The White Sox in exchange received Blake Smith.

LHP Surkamp pitched at Triple A Charlotte where he was 3-0, 2.81 ERA, 30 K, 1.09 WHIP, .204 BAA, 1 SV in 25.2 IP over 11 games with 1 GS. He does have three seasons MLB experience with the White Sox and Giants going 4-3, 6.20 ERA, 33 K, 1.73 WHIP, .301 BAA in 53.2 IP over 42 games with 7 GS. He was originally drafted by the Giants in the sixth round in 2008. Surkamp will be 28 on July 16. 

RHP Smith was pitching at Double Tulsa where he was 0-3, 1.62 ERA, 16 K, 1.02 WHIP, 1.51 BAA, 3 SV in 16.2 IP over 16 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the second round in 2009. Smith turned 27 on December 9th.
