Braves Call Up Andrelton Simmons

The Atlanta Braves have called up Andrelton Simmons from Double A Mississippi. The shortstop is hitting .292/.372/.421 with 3 HR, 21 RBI, 28 R and 10 SB in 43 Double A games this season. Last year at Class A Advanced he hit .311/.351/.408 with 1 HR, 52 RBI, 69 R and 26 SB in 131 games. He was originally drafted by the Braves in the second round in 2010. Simmons will be 23 on September 4.
