The rosters have been revealed for the 2012 Futures Game to be played on July 8 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the infielders on the World team.
Jesus Aguilar is a right-handed first baseman with the Carolina Mudcats which is the Class A Advanced team of the Cleveland Indians. With Carolina he is hitting .303/.386/.487 with 7 HR, 33 RBI, 42 R, 0 SB in 66 games. He originally signed with the Indians in 2007. Aguilar was born in Maracay, Venezuela and will be 22 on June 30.
Xander Bogaerts is a right-handed shortstop with the Salem Red Sox which is the Class A Advanced team of the Boston Red Sox. With Salem he is hitting .287/.366/.474 with 9 HR, 42 RBI, 30 R, 3 SB in 68 games. He originally signed with the Red Sox in 2009. Bogaerts was born in San Nicholas, Aruba and will be 20 on October 1st.
Wilmer Flores is a right-handed shortstop with the Binghamton Mets which is the Double A team of the New York Mets. Lindor was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico and will be 19 on on November 14.
Chih-Fan Pan is a left-handed shortstop with the Burlington Bees which is the Class A team of the Oakland Athletics. With Burlington he is hitting .280/.338/.383 with 2 HR, 29 RBI, 23 R, 3 SB in 53 games. He originally signed with the Athletics in 2010. Pan was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and will be 22 on November 12.
Jurickson Profar is a switch hitting shortstop with the Frisco RoughRiders which is the Double A team of the Texas Rangers. With Frisco he is hitting .296/.373/.477 with 7 HR, 33 RBI, 48 R, 9 SB in 70 games. He originally signed with the Rangers in 2009. Profar was born in Willemstad, Curacao and turned 19 on February 20.
Carlos Sanchez is a switch hitting third baseman with the Winston-Salem Dash which is the Class A Advanced team of the Chicago White Sox. Sanchez was born in Maracay, Venezuela and will be 20 on June 29.
