There have been a number of minor league All Star games this week.
The Class A All Star game of the South Atlantic League was won by the North 3-2. First baseman Nick Delmonico of the Delmarva Shorebirds earned the MVP. On the season Delmonico is hitting .262/.360/.418 with 6 HR, 43 RBI, 30 R and 6 SB in 65 games. Delmonico was originally drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the sixth round in 2011.
The Class A All Star game of the Midwest League was won by the East 18-2. First baseman O'Koyea Dickson of the Great Lakes Loons earned the MVP. On the season Dickson is hitting .331/.442/.564 with 6 HR, 22 RBI, 28 R and 3 SB in 39 games. Dickson was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 12th round in 2011.
The Class A Advanced All Star game of the Florida State League was won by the South 6-3. Third baseman Wilmer Flores of the St Lucie Mets earned the MVP. On the season Flores is hitting .289/.336/.463 with 10 HR, 42 RBI, 31 R and 3 SB in 64 games. Flores originally signed with the New York Mets as an amateur free agent in 2007 out of Venezuela.
In the Class A Advanced contest between the Carolina League and the California League the Carolina League won 9-1. First baseman Travis Shaw of the Salem Red Sox earned the MVP Award for the Carolina League team and short stop Billy Hamilton of the Bakersfield Blaze earned the MVP Award for the California League team. On the season Shaw is hitting .335/.424/.591 with 11 HR, 52 RBI, 47 R, and 8 SB in 64 games. Shaw was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the ninth round in 2011. On the season Hamilton is hitting .322/.408/.441 with 1 HR. 22 R, 59 R and 80 SB in 66 games. Hamilton was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round in 2009.
The Double A All Star game of the Southern League was won by the South 6-2. Centerfielder Alfredo Marte of the Mobile BayBears earned the MVP. On the season Marte is hitting .283/.356/.557 with 13 HR, 45 RBI, 36 R and 5 SB in 62 games. Marte originally signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks as an amateur free agent in 2005 out of the Dominican Republic.
The Double A All Star game for the Texas League will be played on June 28.
The Double A All Star game for the Eastern League will be played on July 11.
The Triple A All Star game will be played on July 11.
