R A Dickey of the New York Mets pitched a one hit complete game shut out over the Baltimore Orioles on June 18. Dickey has been befuddling hitters all season as neither league has been able to solve him. His final line against the Orioles was 9.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 13 K. It was his second consecutive one hitter as the Rays were his last victims on June 13. Dickey at the very least has clinched an All Star appearance and is making strides towards claiming the Cy Young. For the season he is now 11-1 with a 2.00 ERA, 103 K, 0.89 WHIP in 99.0 IP over 14 games. The game evened his career record at 51-51. The Mets won the game 5-0.
