Rangers call up Martin Perez

The Texas Rangers have called up Martin Perez on June 26. The LHP was with Triple A Round Rock where he was 5-5 with a 4.59 ERA, 49 K, 1.37 WHIP in 84.1 IP over 15 games. He split 2011 between Double A Frisco where he was 4-2 with a 3.16 ERA, 83 K, 1.31 WHIP in 88.1 IP over 17 games and Triple A Round Rock where he was 4-4 with a 6.43 ERA, 37 K, 1.88 WHIP in 49.0 IP over 10 games. He originally signed with the Rangers as an amateur free agent in 2007 out of Venezuela. Perez turned 21 on April 4th.
