The rosters have been revealed for the 2012 Futures Game to be played on July 8 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the catchers on the US team.
Travis d'Arnaud is a right-handed catcher with the Las Vegas 51's which is the Triple A team of the Toronto Blue Jays. With Las Vegas he is hitting .330/.378/.583 with 15 HR, 49 RBI, 42 R, 1 SB in 63 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies with the 37th pick of the first round in 2007. d'Arnaud was born in Long Beach, CA and tirned 23 on February 10.
Tommy Joseph is a right-handed catcher with the Richmond Flying Squirrels which is the Double A team of the San Francisco Giants. With Richmond he is hitting .248/.291/.347 with 3 HR, 15 RBI, 21 R, 0 SB in 52 games. He was originally drafted by the Giants in the second round in 2009. Joseph was born in Phoenix, AZ and will be 21 on July 16.
