The rosters have been revealed for the 2012 Futures Game to be played on July 8 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the pitchers on the US team.
Matt Barnes is a RHP of the Salem Red Sox which is the Class A Advanced team of the Boston Red Sox. He originally drafted by the Red Sox with the 19th pick of the first round in 2011. Barnes was born in Bethel, CT and turned 22 on June 17.
Trevor Bauer is a RHP of the Reno Aces which is the Triple A team of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He started the season with Double A Mobile where he was 7-1 with a 1.68 ERA, 60 K, 1.22 WHIP in 48.1 IP over 8 games. With Reno he is 4-0 with a 2.79 ERA, 51 K, 1.43 WHIP in 42.0 IP over 8 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the third pick of the first round in 2011. Bauer was born in North Hollywood, CA and turned 21 on January 21.
