Florida State 4 UCLA 1 CWS 2012 game 9

Scott Sitz pitched with emotion and the top of the Seminole order led the offense as Florida State eliminated UCLA 4-1. UCLA had their best chance in the sixth when they loaded the bases with no outs but only managed one run as Sitz struck out the last three batters of the inning. Sitz final line was 6.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K in 103 pitches. Sherman Johnson, Devon Travis and James Ramsey were all 2 for 3 in the top three spots of the Seminole order. Jayce Boyd also provided some excitement with his bat breaking a 0-10 CWS slump by bunting for a base hit that bordered on a suicide squeeze that two runners scored on. Florida State next plays Arizona on Thursday. They will have to defeat Arizona twice to advance to the championship best of three series.
