Kudos to Kyle Smith of the Kansas City Royals organization on the impressive start to his pro career which earned him TWO pitcher of the week awards in two leagues. His pro debut was with the Idaho Falls Chukars where he he got the win with a line of 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 11 K. That dominant performance warranted an immediate promotion to the Class A Kane County Cougars where he pitched 6 no hit innings and had the line of 6.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. Both outings were good enough to earn pitcher of the week in their respective leagues.
Next season I'm going to be posting the weekly pitcher and player of the week awards.
