Arizona 5 South Carolina 1 CWS 2012 game 14

Arizona claimed game one in the best of three championship series with a 5-1 victory over South Carolina. Wildcats starter Konner Wade kept the Gamecocks bats in check as he went the distance. Wade's final line was 9.0 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K in 110 pitches. Robert Refsnyder gave Wade all the support he needed in the first inning with a two run home run. In the game Refsnyder was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs and was intentionally walked twice. South Carolina's pitching staff had been stretched thin as they made their way through the loser's bracket to make the final. They hope to get back on track Tuesday with CWS star Michael Roth taking the mound. Arizona has yet to lose in Omaha and is one victory away from the title.
