Kent State 5 Florida 4 CWS 2012 game 7
Cinderella juggled glass slippers as Kent State escaped with the victory in the ninth after Florida loaded the bases. Kent State relievers Michael Clark and Josh Pierce struggled to find the strike zone as they tried to finish the game and finally exhaled when Justin Shafer flied out to right for the final out. When Stony Brook upset LSU in the super regional many claimed that was one of the biggest upset in sports history. This game tops that. Florida came to Omaha as the number one seed while Kent State is a first timer. Ryan Boras kept the Gators bats in check for six innings with a final line of 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, K in 80 pitches. It wasn't over powering but did the job. Cather David Lyon also supported his pitcher with his bat going 3 for 5 with an RBI to lead a 12 hit attack. Kent State will play the loser of the Arkansas\South Carolina game on Wednesday.
