Kent State hope to continue their role of giant killer but a Goliathan effort by South Carolina pitcher Michael  Roth eliminated them from the tournament. Roth pitched a two hitter and retired the final 22 hitters as South Carolina won 4-1. The final line on Roth was 9.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K in 106 pitches. L B Danzler provided some offensive thunder with a 2 run home run in the third. South Carolina next plays Arkansas tonight. They must defeat Arkansas twice to advance to the championship series.
