Matt Cain throws perfect game against Astros
Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants pitched a perfect game against the Houston Astros on June 13, 2012. Cain had plenty of offensive support as the Giants won 10-0. It was the first no hitter of Cain's career. His final line was 9.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 14 K in 125 pitches. It was the 22nd game in Major League history and the second this season after Philip Humber of the Chicago White Sox pitched one on April 21. For the season Cain is now 8-2 with a 2.18 ERA, 96 K, 0.85 WHIP in 95.0 IP over 13 games. This game pushed his win total above .500 for his career as he is now 76-75 with a 3.30 ERA, 1167 K, 1.18 WHIP in 1403.1 IP over 216 games. He was originally drafted by the Giants with the 25th pick of the first round in 2002,
