Matt Wotherspoon traded to Orioles

Matt Wotherspoon was traded by the New York Yankees to the Baltimore Orioles on July 2, 2017 in exchange for international signing bonus pool space. The RHP had split 2017 between Double A Trenton and Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He was 2-1, 1.67 ERA, 33 K, 1.04 WHIP, .214 BAA, 3 SV in 27.0 IP over 15 games at Trenton and 1-0, 2.25 ERA, 12 K, 1.08 WHIP, .233 BAA, 1 SV in 12.0 IP over 6 games with 1 GS at SWB. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 34th round in 2014. Wotherspoon turned 25 on October 6th.
