Dan Jennings traded to Rays

Dan Jennings was traded by the Chicago White Sox to the Tampa Bay Rays on July 27, 2017. The White Sox in exchange received Casey Gillaspie.

LHP Jennings was 3-1, 3.45 ERA, 38 K, 1.22 ERA, .215 BAA in 44.1 IP over 48 games with the White Sox in 2017. Over six MLB seasons with the White Sox and Marlins he was 12-13, 2.86 ERA, 214 K, 1.39 WHIP, .253 BAA, 1 SV in 261.1 IP over 281 games. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in the ninth round in 2008 and traded to the White Sox in 2014. Jennings turned 30 on April 17.

First baseman Gillaspie hit 80 for 353, .227/.296/.357 with 9 HR, 44 RBI, 45 R, 1 SB in 95 games at Triple A Durham in 2017. He was originally drafted by the Rays with the 20th pick of the first round in 2014. Gillaspie turned 24 on January 25.
