Anthony Swarzak traded to Brewers

Anthony Swarzak was traded by the Chicago White Sox to the Milwaukee Brewers on July 26, 2017. The White Sox in exchange received Ryan Cordell.

RHP Swarzak was 4-3, 2.23 ERA, 52 K, 1.03 WHIP, .216 BAA, 1 SV in 48.1 IP over 41 games with the White Sox in 2017. Over eight MLB seasons with the White Sox, Yankees, Indians and Twins he was 21-29, 4.31 ERA, 363 K, 1.35 WHIP, .273 BAA, 1 SV in 532.1 IP over 258 games with 32 GS. He was originally drafted by the Twins in the second round in 2004. Swarzak will be 32 on September 10.

Outfielder Cordell hit 74 for 261, .284/.349/.506 with 10 HR, 45 RBI, 49 R, 9 SB in 68 games at Triple A Colorado Springs in 2017. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the 11th round in 2013 and was traded to the Brewers in 2016. Cordell turned 25 on March 31.
