Jeremy Hellickson was traded to Orioles

Jeremy Hellickson was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Baltimore Orioles on July 29, 2017 along with cash. The Phillies in exchange received Hyun Soo Kim, Garrett Cleavinger and international signing bonus pool space.

RHP Hellickson was 6-5, 4.73 ERA, 65 K, 1.26 WHIP, .261 BAA in 112.1 IP over 20 GS with the Phillies in 2017. Over eight MLB seasons with the Phillies, Diamondbacks and Rays he was 67-63, 3.98 ERA, 803 K, 1.25 WHIP, .249 BAA in 1087.1 IP over 194 games with 187 GS. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the fourth round in 2005, was traded to the Diamondbacks in 2014 and traded to the Phillies in 2015. Hellickson turned 30 on April 8th.

Outfielder Kim hit 29 for 125, .232/.305/.288 with 1 HR, 10 RBI, 11 R, 0 SB in 56 games with the Orioles in 2017. Over two MLB seasons with the Orioles he hit .281/.359/.381 with 7 HR, 32 RBI, 47 R, 1 SB in 151 games. He originally signed with the Orioles in 2015 as a free agent out of South Korea. Kim turned 29 on January 12.

LHP Cleavinger was 2-4, 6.28 ERA, 42 K, 1.58 WHIP, .245 BAA, 3 SV in 38.2 IP over 27 games at Double A Bowie in 2017. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the third round in 2015. Cleavinger turned 23 on April 23.
